The Tipton’s Festive Funding for the Local Community
Christmas is a time for good will, and we have been playing our part with donations and support for local charities.
We have donated a large selection of toiletries, toys, sweets and children’s clothing to the Santa’s Black Country Toy Appeal. This local charity supports struggling families with toys and gifts over the Christmas period.
We have also made a large donation of food and a £500 cash donation to Black Country Food Bank. The charity helps vulnerable people and families in crisis by providing them with emergency food and toiletry supplies while a longer-term solution is found.
We have also sponsored the Tipton Christmas Tree of Light Appeal. This raises money for local charities from donations made by local people wishing to remember lost loved ones at Christmas time. The Tree is illuminated and dedicated to the memory of these loved ones, be they family members, friends or colleagues, whose names are entered onto a Roll of Remembrance displayed around the Tree which is located outside St Martin`s and St Paul’s church in Owen Street.
Richard Newton, our CEO said: ‘This Christmas will be particularly challenging for many families due to the continuing impact of the pandemic. The Society believes engaging and supporting the local community is an important part of its core purpose, and it remains as important as ever during these difficult times. We hope our donations helps to brighten up the festive period for local families’.
