Happy to help: The Tipton announces new cash total of nearly £10,000 handed to charities close to home

The Tipton and Coseley Building Society has donated £9,738.34 through its Charitable Foundation in December 2023, spreading hope, care and happiness for people in need in the West Midlands.

Charities include the Priory Park Amateur Boxing Club in Dudley, which supports and encourages people of all ages through the sport;NICE, a charity based in Moseley, Birmingham, that helps adults and children with movement disorders including cerebral palsy and multiple sclerosis.

The Tipton's Charitable Foundation celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2024. Since the foundation was first set up in 1999,  a panel of Tipton employees meets with members of the community twice a year to allocate the funds. Donations from the foundation during December 2023 will help the good work of organisations including:

St Giles Hospice; 
Omega, the National Association for End of Life Care; 
NICE – Centre for Movement Disorders; 
Wolverhampton Samaritans; 
Birmingham Hospice; 
The Mary Stevens Hospice; 

Amy Fellows at the Tipton said: ‘2023 has been a particularly challenging time for charities as many people struggle with the cost of living crisis. Supporting local people has always been one of the guiding principles of the Tipton so we are pleased that we are able to make donations to these wonderful charities’.
