Colleague Charities of the Year 2024
Giving back to the local community is part of who we are.
At the end of 2023, we asked our colleagues to nominate local charities to support during 2024. With numerous nominations received, who all do incredible work, it left a tough decision to choose our Charity of the Year. As a result, we are pleased to announce our 4 Colleague Charities of the Year:
- Midland Langer Seva Society
- Balls to Cancer
- Acorns Children's Hospice
- Heartlands Hospital Neonatal Unit
Black Country Foodbank
The Foodbank started in 2006 and helps those in need by providing them with emergency food and toiletry supplies while a longer-term solution is found.
The Society has made a donation of £12,000 to the Black Country Foodbank in 2023, and have pledged to donate a further £12,000 in 2024. You can find out more on our donation to the Foodbank here.
Tipton Education Fund
The Tipton Education Fund was established to support educational programmes and facilities throughout Tipton. The Fund's goal is to assist schools and community projects, who are able to help children enhance their life skills in many different ways.
Our CEO, Adam Evetts, is a proud member of the panel that assists in grant applications for the Tipton Education Fund.

Local Teams
We also continue to support a number of local sporting teams, through regular donations, in order to help with the operation of the clubs. Find out more about what they do below:
Tipton Town FC
The club was first established in 1948, where it was originally known as Ocker Hill United. Ocker Hill United won many local leagues throughout the years, until it was then decided to change the club's name to Tipton Town in 1967.
Tipton Harriers
The Tipton Harriers club was formed in 1910, and has been achieving a great number of team successes ever since, particularly in road-racing and cross country. Many members have represented their country in the European Club Championships on several occasions.
Coseley Cricket Club
Coseley Cricket Club offers cricket for players of all standards. They also have a weekly Ladies team and a popular youth team which caters for all age groups, all new players are welcome.
Charitable Foundation
Launched in 1999, our Charitable Foundation aims to donate £10,000 each year to health and educational charities based around the West Midlands. To find out more information on how to apply, please click here.
Midlands Air Ambulance
Since 2018, our colleagues have supported the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, a charity dedicated to providing critical response care to many incidents across the Midlands which may not be reachable by regular roadside ambulances. Colleagues have supported through various fundraising activities, including our very own Tipton Bake Off, Raffles, Spin Bike events, Christmas Hampers, colleague football matches, and more.
We also offer Midlands Air Ambulance savings accounts. To which, the Society will make an annual donation to the Charity, based on the balance held in these accounts, at no cost to our members. You can find out more and view our accounts here.
In September 2023, our colleagues also attended the Midlands Air Ambulance Recognition & Awards evening held at Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham. At the event, the Society was recognised for its charity work for the Midlands Air Ambulance by winning the Corporate Partnership Award, which recognises our employees who have demonstrated hard work and commitment to raising funds for the charity.
